More ASUS ROG Ally specifications have surfaced online, shortly after VideoCardz published two leaks about the forthcoming gaming handheld. Seemingly first published by @papayatop on Twitter, the image reproduced below appears to originate from a ROG Ally product page. For reference, the device's 1080p and 120 Hz display was already known, as were its 500 nits peak brightness and 7 ms response time values.
Additionally, Dave Lee and Linus Sebastian revealed that the ROG Ally weighs 608 g and that it combined a UHS-II MicroSD card slot with an M.2 2230 SSD. According to the image linked below, the ROG Ally will ship with a 512 GB PCIe Gen4 SSD, as well as 16 GB of LPDDR5 dual-channel RAM. ASUS will pre-load the former with Windows 11 and Armoury Crate SE, which will offer key mapping, performance profiles and an in-game overlay for making tweaks on the fly. Leather Notebook
Moreover, the gaming handheld will rely on Ryzen Z1 series processors, details of which neither AMD or ASUS have provided at this stage. However, the Ryzen Z1 is rumoured to be a custom Ryzen 7 7840U, which will also soon be available in the standard form through the AOKZOE A1 Pro and AOKZOE A2. Currently, it remains to be seen how the AMD Ryzen Z1 series will differ from its Ryzen 7 7840U counterpart, but ASUS is expected to launch the ROG Ally this quarter.
